As of today, Professor Roger Gläser from the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy is the new Vice-Rector for Talent Development: Study and Teaching. He was elected by the Leipzig University Senate. In the video, Professor Gläser introduces himself and his vice-rectorate.

The Vice-Rectorate is responsible for talent development at the University in the broad sense, meaning individual development for students and for early career researchers at the various qualification phases, and personnel development for non-academic staff. The Vice-Rectorate deals with all strategic, cross-faculty matters of teaching and thus with the areas traditionally associated with a department of study and teaching. With the strategic task of talent development, however, its duties extend well beyond the traditional departmental structure.

In the video (English subtitles available), the newly elected Vice-Rector talks about his motivation, his tasks and his priorities while in office.
