Despite difficult circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic, the “Firmenlauf” – the annual corporate fun run held in Leipzig – will still take place virtually during the month of July. Leipzig University’s team plans to compete again with its motto “Champions of tomorrow. Today”.

“Now more than ever, it is particularly important to promote a sense of cohesion. Our university is one of the largest employers in the region and at the same time a strong partner for companies in Leipzig. This is where the specialists and leaders of tomorrow are taught. We want to present our strong team,” said Daniel Eckert-Lindhammer from the team organising the event.

Once again this year, the health insurance provider Techniker Krankenkasse has been brought on board as project partner for promoting health and fitness in the workplace. University staff can sign up for the free training programme now. The programme is an ideal basis for beginning training on a more regular basis. The experienced running coaches will show participants how to run correctly. Two yoga classes are also being offered again – albeit outdoors. All courses are aimed at both beginners and advanced runners, promoting not only health but also team spirit among colleagues. They are an active contribution to a positive working atmosphere and reducing the risk of illness.

If you would like to participate in the running training, please register online. To join one of the yoga classes, please send an email to firmenlauf(at)uni-leipzig.de. Up-to-date information is available on Facebook.
